“Gemma has a plan” is an extraordinary story that breaks boundaries. In Serbia, the crime of human trafficking is punishable by up to 12 years in prison: this accusation is faced by the protagonist of this documentary, Gemma, whom the police catch, with her husband, trying to pass a Serbian border control with an Afghan family clandestinely. But is Gemma a human trafficker? What drives this nurse, mother of three children and grandmother of a little girl, to take this risk and endanger the tranquility of her life?
