Border Crossing
Client: School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) | University of the Arts London (UAL)
Services: Animation | Website Design & Creation | Illustrations
Working with Dr. Eleanor Newbigin, Prof. Navtej Purewal and Tajender Sagoo from SOAS University of London, and University of the Arts London (UAL) to create and develop the site.
The website shares the findings of the Border Crossings research project which explores how colonial power and violence shaped partition and how its legacies continue to shape how remembrance and reflection on the past are constructed in the present.
The site’s imagery and repeating animated sequences were inspired and developed by the research data available, using the idea of weaving, tapestry, manipulation and control. Each image and moving sequence containing meaning.
